http://elite.frontier.co.uk/some reason it sparks my interest. I have never played a space based game like this before.

Games like this always get me really interested to try them out. I really enjoyed the space combat in games like Star Trek Online and a few of the Star Wars games. To be honest though, EVE Online had a learning curve that seemed like it required a far bigger time investment than I could muster. I'd give this a try for sure, but if its too clumsy, I'd lose interest fast. Maybe as it gets further developed I'd consider buying in and checking it out. If you get it Dub, let me know what you think.

I don't think this game is similar to Eve. Eve is in essence a MMO in space, with grinding and whatnot. From what little I know of Elite dangerous it's actual combat, vs the combat you'd find in most MMO's. But, admittedly I saw teh video for elite dangerous forever ago.
